How Long After I Purchase the Online Part Do I Have to Complete the Skills Session?

You have 90 Days to complete the Skills Check after you purchase the online class.

Do I Need To Buy a Book with My Online Class?

No, when you purchase an online class there is a digital version included with the online access to your course.

What Are the Rules for Online Classes?

Here are the 3 Steps to Getting Certified with an Online Class.

1. Register for an Online Class.  Select the online class that you need to be certified in. You can register for that class on our website. After you complete the order you will receive your online course key code via email.

2. Complete Online Portion.  You will complete the online portion of the class at your own convenience. You will then simply print the completion certificate to bring with you to the skills check.

3. Take Skills Check.  After completion of the online portion you will schedule a convenient time to take the required in-person skills check at our training site. You will receive your card the same day.

Can I Get Certified Completely ONLINE?

No. The AHA requires that all online classes include an in-person, hands-on Skills Check. You cannot get certified by the AHA without completing a skills check following an online class.

Any company that promises online only certification is NOT associated with the American Heart Association.

WARNING: There are many Online CPR, BLS, ACLS and PALS online classes that are advertised. Most are not American Heart Association (AHA) approved. Healthcare employers require American Heart Association certifications. Taking a course that is not approved would be a waste of time and money. You can usually find this information on the website offering the course in the Terms and Conditions area (usually a small link at the bottom of the page) or the FAQ’s area of the website. You cannot receive an American Heart Association certification card entirely online! An in-person skills session is always required.

How Do I Claim my eCard?

The American Heart Association no longer provides physical cards. All cards are in digital format that you can access and print.

Here are directions on How To Claim and Access Your Ecard.

Once you have accessed your card through the AHA’s website, you will have the option to download and print the eCard, which is in PDF format.

If you have any questions or problems, please contact us. We’re always happy to help!
