How Do I Register for a Class?

It’s very simple. You can register in the course calendar located on all course pages by clicking on the class you need. If you have more questions, please call us and one of our customer service members can help you register over the phone.


When Do I Get My Card?

You will receive your 2 year AHA certification the same day as class. The American Heart Association cards are now digital. You will be emailed access to your card after successful completion of the class.


Are Books/Manuals Required?

Yes. The American Heart Association requires that every student has access to a book prior to, during and after class.

You may purchase a book from us at checkout or bring your own. If you do not have one at the time of class, you can purchase one from us before class begins.


Are Your Classes AHA accredited?

Yes! All of our classes are 100% American Heart Association certified classes. Every successful student will receive an official 2 year AHA certification.


Which Class Do I Need?

Basic Life Support (BLS Class)
This course Satisfies All Requirements for Students in Medically Related School Programs (such as nursing school, medical and dental school, etc.). This is the BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR course that is required by medical and healthcare professionals such as nurses, doctors, dentists, dental hygienists, radiologists, paramedics, therapists, etc. This course is for both first time students AND for those that are renewing their BLS card.

 

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS Renew)
This course is the Update ACLS course. You must have a current ACLS certification to be eligible for this class. If your ACLS certification has expired then you must take the First Time ACLS class; see below.

 

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS Renew)
This course is the Update PALS course. You must have a current PALS certification to be eligible for this class. If your PALS certification has expired then you must take the First Time PALS class; see below.

 

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (1st Time ACLS)
This is the initial ACLS class for specialized health care providers such as surgeons, emergency medical physicians and nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other medical professionals in life threatening and critical environments.

 

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (1st Time PALS)
This is the initial PALS class for advanced healthcare providers that work in a pediatric setting. This course is typically taken by surgeons, emergency medical physicians and nurses, paramedics, and other medical professionals in life threatening and critical pediatric environments.

 

CPR for Teachers, Trainers, Public, etc. (HeartSaver CPR)
This class is for Personal Trainers, Coaches, Teachers, Life Guards, Parents, Baby Sitters, Home Care, Hotels, Restaurants, Security, and anyone else who want to be certified in CPR with AED Training for adults, children, and infants. HeartSaver® CPR is for people who do not have a medical background and will not be working in a healthcare profession, but need to be certified in CPR.

 

First Aid and CPR Class (HeartSaver CPR – First Aid)
The Heartsaver® First Aid and CPR class will teach students the essential skills and knowledge required to manage emergencies until advanced medical personal arrives.

 

Online Classes
Online classes include HeartSaver CPR, BLS, ACLS, & PALS classes. The American Heart Association’s online classes provide the perfect way to get your AHA certification card with very little interference with your schedule. You can complete the online portion of the course at your leisure on your own computer, and then take a quick in-person skills check at a convenient time for you. All AHA Online Classes required an in-person skills check.

 

Skills Checks
If you have completed the first part of an American Heart Association online class, you will need to get your skills checked in order to complete your certification. Skills Checks in BLS for Healthcare Providers, ACLS, PALS, and CPR and First Aid courses. The American Heart Association requires that every student must pass an in-person, hands-on sesion with a qualified AHA instructor before receiving their 2 year certification card.
